The GIFT Nifty futures, which are an early indicator of the Nifty50 index stocks, were trading lower by 82 points at 25,958, indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a negative start on Tuesday. 

Earlier on Monday, 8 December, the Domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex traded lower by 610 points or 0.71%, and settled at 85,102, while the Nifty50 traded 0.86% higher or 225 points, closing at 25,960.

Torrent Power: Torrent Power has signed a long-term agreement with Japan’s JERA to procure up to 0.27 MMTPA of LNG for 10 years starting in 2027. The company will use the gas to operate its 2,730 MW gas-based power plants, meet peak power demand, and balance renewable energy generation.

JSW Infrastructure: JSW Infrastructure has entered the railway rake segment by acquiring three JSW-owned rake companies for Rs 1,212 crore. Its wholly owned subsidiary, JSW Port Logistics, has signed an SPA to purchase 100% stakes in JSW Rail Infra Logistics, JSW Minerals Rail Logistics and JSW (South) Rail Logistics.

Larsen and Toubro: Larsen & Toubro has approved a scheme to transfer its realty business to its wholly owned subsidiary, L&T Realty Properties Ltd., through a slump sale on a going-concern basis.

Siemens: The Board of Directors of the company have approved the sale of its Low Voltage Motors and Geared Motors businesses, along with related customer service operations, to Innomotics India through a slump sale for an enterprise value of Rs 2,200 crore on a cash-free, debt-free basis.

VTM: VTM has signed an MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu to invest Rs 50 crore over the next two years to manufacture cotton grey fabric and home textile products in the Madurai and Virudhunagar districts.
