Stocks in Focus: Vodafone Idea, Ultratech Cement, Zee Entertainment, and Others

The GIFT Nifty futures, which is an early indicator of the Nifty50 index, was trading 0.56% lower by 125.5 points at 22,452, indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a negative start on Wednesday. 

On Tuesday, 2 April, Domestic benchmark indices snapped their three-day gaining streak. S&P BSE Sensex lost 110.64 points, or 0.15%, to end at 73,903.91, while the Nifty50 traded up by 8.70 points, or 0.04% and settled at 22,453.30. 

Here are some stocks that are likely to remain in focus on 3 April.

Vodafone Idea: The company’s CEO, Akshaya Moondra, said on 2 April that the promoter shareholding in Vodafone Idea (VI) will fall to 40% from 50% after the equity fund-raise of Rs 20,000 crore.

Ultratech Cement: India’s largest cement producer has set aside Rs 32,400 crore as capital expenditure for the next three years to increase its production capacity, including acquiring Kesoram Cement.

Zee Entertainment: Punit Goenka, the managing director and Chief Executive Officer, will take a 20% cut in his remuneration to focus on the company’s growth plan. 

Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services: The company reported an 11% year-on-year growth in disbursements at about Rs 15,300 crore for the January-March quarter of FY24.

Shree Cement: The company has successfully commissioned its Guntur plant in Andhra Pradesh, six months ahead of schedule and taking the firm’s total manufacturing capacity to 56.4 million tonnes per annum. 

JSW Energy: The company has announced its plans to raise Rs 5,000 crore via a qualified institutional placement (QIP) program.

DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations: The company has announced that it is securing a significant work order worth Rs 4.67 crore from the United Kingdom for Drone and Geographic Information System (GIS) Data Processing.
