Suzlon Energy Shares Surge 3% on Securing Order for 204 MW

The third order makes this the largest Commercial & Industrial (C&I) order for the company.

Shares of Suzlon Energy Ltd surged 3% on Tuesday, 4 March, after the company announced receiving a third order of 204.75 megawatts (MW) from Jindal Green Wind 1 Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables.Β

The third order makes this the largest Commercial & Industrial (C&I) order for the company, which has a total capacity of 907.2 MW.

Two orders to add 702.45 MW of wind energy to JSPL’s operations in Chhattisgarh and Odisha had already been issued to Suzlon Energy.

As part of the new order, Suzlon will supply 65 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT); each WTG will have a 3.15 MW capacity.

The energy generated would be used for captive consumption in steel factories in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, enhancing their operational sustainability and supporting India’s transition to green energy, according to an exchange filing by Suzlon Energy.

“Building on our initial successes in Karnataka, we are now expanding the low Carbon Dioxide steel movement to Tamil Nadu,” Suzlon Group vice chairman Girish Tanti said.

At 12:26 pm, the shares of Suzlon Energy were trading 1.47% higher at Rs 50.51 on NSE.
