Swaraj Engines surges after the Mahindra arm posted record quarterly profit and sales

Swaraj Engines Limited climbed 3% on Monday, hitting a day high of Rs 3,830, after the Mahindra arm posted record quarterly profit and sales.

For the quarter ended 30 June, revenue climbed 21.5% year-on-year to around Rs 588 crore. Net profit grew 11.1% to Rs 55.53 crore, while EBITDA rose 14.4% to Rs 76.76 crore.

The margin held broadly steady near 13%, just a touch lower than a year earlier. Engine sales did the heavy lifting here.

Volumes jumped 15.8% to 56,803 units in the quarter, up from 49,040 units a year ago, and the company said this was its ‘highest ever engine sales and profit for any quarter’.

There’s a bigger milestone tucked into this update too. Swaraj Engines said its cumulative sales volume has now crossed the 2 million mark since the company began operations.

Earnings per share also moved up, to Rs 45.70 from Rs 41.14 in the same quarter last year.

Worth noting, revenue growth easily beat the company’s own FY27 guidance of 16%, though profit growth of 11% came in a shade below its guided range of 15 to 20%.

The results were approved by the board earlier today and reviewed by the statutory auditors.

Swaraj Engines makes diesel engines mainly for Mahindra and Mahindra’s tractor business, and Mahindra remains the majority shareholder in the company.

At 13:05 pm, the stock was trading at Rs 3,740.30 on the NSE, up 0.84% for the day. That’s well off the session’s high, with some of the early gains fading as the morning wore on.
