Tata Motors, HCL Tech, Ultratech, NBCC, Mastek, Tata Communications are in Focus

Equity benchmarks were on track to move from flat to higher on Thursday. As noted by SGX Nifty, quoted at 17,690, the Nifty could open around 30 points higher.

Globally, US markets were flat overnight as investors digested mixed earnings from Netflix and Morgan Stanley. While the Nasdaq Composite closed in the green, the Dow and S&P 500 fell 0.2%.

Tata Motors: Jaguar Land Rover, the luxury car unit of Tata Motors, said it would invest £15 billion (Rs 1.53 lakh crore) over the next five years to build an electric-first future.

ICICI Securities: The company reported a 22.8% year-on-year fall in consolidated profit to Rs 262.7 crore in the quarter that ended March 23.

Mastek: The IT services company posted a sequential growth of 13.07% in consolidated profit to Rs 726 crore in the March quarter of FY23. Revenue for the quarter rose 7.7% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 709.2 crore, with business growth.

Tata Communications: The company’s consolidated profit fell 10.7% year-on-year to Rs 326 crore in Q4FY23. Revenue for the quarter rose 7.2% year-on-year to Rs 4,569 crore.

UltraTech Cement: The company is pleased to announce that the capacity of its grinding unit at Patliputra, Bihar, has increased to 4.7 mtpa following the successful commissioning of its 2.2 mtpa brownfield expansion. The new capacity will help the company meet the fast-growing cement demand in the eastern region and will also help increase its blended cement ratio. India’s total grey cement production capacity currently stands at 129.15 mtpa.

NBCC (India): The company has secured multiple orders for civil works from PWD Puducherry worth Rs 207.92 crore.

ITC: The company signed the transaction documents, including the Securities Subscription & Purchase Agreement and the Shareholder Agreement, to acquire the entire equity of Sproutlife Foods. The transaction should close within three to four years.

Hardwyn India: The board will meet on April 26 to consider the issue of fully paid bonus shares to company members.

Bank of Maharashtra: The board will meet on April 24 to consider proposals to raise capital for FY23-24 through follow-on public offering (FPO)/rights issue/qualified institutional placement (QIP)/preferred issue or any other means up to Rs 7,500 crore lakhs or combinations thereof and/or by the issue of BASEL III or other such securities as may be permitted by applicable law, subject to the necessary approvals.

Torrent Power: The company established a subsidiary, “Torrent Urja 12 Private Limited”, on April 18, 2023.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited’s board of directors is scheduled to meet on Saturday, April 22, to consider initial and partial buybacks of certain of its Indian rupee or US dollar-denominated debt securities during the current financial year, subject to the following market conditions.

Ami Organics: The board of directors will meet on April 22 to consider the offering of equity and/or other securities of the company via a preferred offering, subject to shareholder approval by the postal voting process and regulatory approval, if applicable, and determination of the offering price.

Dharmaj Crop Guard: The company launched a new product called DHAMRO on the market on April 19, 2023.

The Bombay Burmah Trading Corp: The board has decided to sell the plantation land/property and assets forming part of all 3 tea estates in Tanzania to Udongo Wetu Limited of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, totalling approximately 3957 acres (“Identified Assets”) to be executed between the parties The total consideration allocated to each asset in the sales documents is $1.2 million.

SoftTech Engineers Limited: The company has partnered with Tech Mahindra to provide technical services to YIT and drive digitisation.

Bannari Amman: The board of directors has approved various means of raising capital up to Rs 150 crore.

Equitas Small Finance Bank: The Reserve Bank of India has granted Equitas an Authorised Dealer Category-I (AD-I) license to trade Forex.

Ion Exchange: The board will meet tomorrow to consider splitting its existing shares.

TTK Healthcare: The board will meet tomorrow to consider the proposal for voluntary delisting.
