Tata Power Bags 100 MW Solar Project at Dholera Solar Park

Tata Group on Wednesday said that its electric utility, Tata Power Ltd. has bagged a contract for developing a 100 MW (megawatt) solar project in Dholera Solar Park in Gujarat.
Now, with this recently bagged project the company has a portfolio of 620 MW solar projects under construction in Gujarat, of which 400 MW solar projects will be in the Dholera Solar Park.
“It is an important milestone in the Company’s endeavour to generate 35 – 40% of Tata Power’s total generation capacity from clean energy sources and will go a long way to meet the country’s commitment towards green and clean energy,” said Tata Power in a statement.
Tata Power will supply the electricity developed from this project to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam, as a part of 25-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The 100 MW solar project has to be commissioned within 15 months from the date of the execution of PPAs.
The company’s renewable capacity will be increased to 3,936 MW, of which 2,637 MW is already operational and the rest 1,299 MW capacity is under implementation.
