Three Indian Naval Ships with Newly Inducted Officers on Board Enter UAE

Three Indian Navy ships with newly recruited officers enter the UAE.

For the long-range deployment training for the newly recruited officers of the Indian Navy, two ships of the Indian Navy – INS Tir and INS Sujata, and one ship of Indian Coast Guard Sarathi, arrive in the Arabia wharf of Port Rashid in Dubai, UAE. The Defence Attache received the ships at the Embassy of India in UAE and officials of the UAE Navy.

As part of the long-term training deployment, three ships belonging to the First Training Squadron (1TS) are deployed in the Persian Gulf. The First Training Squadron (1TS) is based at Kochi and is part of the Southern Naval Command, the Indian Navy’s Training Command.

In a press release, The Union Minster of Defence said that the deployment of 1TS aimed to expose the trainee to conduct various evolution at sea and port familiarization. The deployment would also provide exposure to the trainees about the sociopolitical, military, and maritime linkages of India with friendly countries and its maritime neighbourhood.

Before this, on October 5 First Training Squadron made a port call at Kuwait, where Kuwaiti Naval Forces and officials, along with Embassy of India officials, welcomed the Indian ships. The three-day port call includes cross-ship visits, professional engagements, social interactions, and community outreach. After completing their ab-initio training at the Indian Naval Academy, the Executive Officers of the Indian Navy are assigned to the First Training Squadron in Kochi.
