Today, Nitish Kumar Will Take His Eighth Oath as Cm of Bihar_eq

Nitish Kumar, the leader of the Janata Dal (United), is set to take the oath of office once more today as the Chief Minister of Bihar, ending the partnership with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with Tejashwi Yadav serving as his deputy.

Nitish Kumar will be sworn in as Bihar’s Chief Minister for the eighth time if he is elected again.

With the help of the BJP, Kumar took the oath of office as the seventh chief minister of Bihar in 2020. In the 243-seat Bihar Legislative Assembly, where BJP won 74 seats, JD(U) won 43, and two other NDA members won eight seats, the NDA won a 125-seat majority in the elections. The Congress, on the other hand, only gained 19 of the 70 seats it had contested, emerging as the single-largest party with 75 seats.

On a day of fast shifting political dynamics in Bihar, Kumar broke his alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) National Democratic Alliance and joined forces with the RJD.
