Uber said that it has appointed Amit Jain as the President, Uber India in a newly created position. The company also said that Amit Jain has been a president of US home rentals website operator Rent.com.

For the purpose of getting a bigger market share in the country, the company has tweaked its business model to include cash payments and tie ups with operators of auto rickshaws.
