Shares of United Breweries Ltd rose 2% to hit a day’s high of Rs 1,840 on 2nd September after the company announced that it has started production of its flagship brand, Kingfisher, at the Ilios brewery in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh.

The move follows the company’s May 2025 leasing agreement with Ilios Breweries to enhance capacity in the state.

The new brewery, with a monthly capacity of 4.5 lakh cases, adds to UBL’s 12 lakh case capacity at Srikakulam, supporting rising demand. It also creates over 500 direct and indirect jobs, benefiting allied sectors such as packaging, logistics, and distribution.

United Breweries Q1 Results:

United Breweries posted a 6.4% YoY rise in standalone net profit at Rs 184 crore, below the expected Rs 200 crore. Revenue grew 15.8% to Rs 2,863 crore, beating estimates of Rs 2,750 crore.

EBITDA rose 9% YoY to Rs 311.17 crore but missed the projected Rs 322 crore. The EBITDA margin slipped to 10.8% from 11.5% last year.

Volumes increased 11% in Q1, with a 46% rise in the premium segment, enabling the company to gain market share. Net sales increased 16% YoY, supported by volume growth, pricing, and premiumisation.

Gross profit rose 14% with a margin of 42.5% (down 50 bps), while EBIT grew 10% with a 9% margin, as UBL continued investing in brands, talent, and supply chain.

At 1:37 PM, the shares of United Breweries were trading 1.97% higher at Rs 1,831.10 on NSE.
