The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has reserved Rs 55,000 crore for road investments, expressways, and metro rail missions in FY2023-24.

The slide of infrastructure projects to boost the basic, modern transport infrastructure in urban and rural pockets shelters all the state’s districts.

This aligns with UP’s goal of generating jobs and accomplishing the $ 1 trillion economy target by 2027. Concerning UP Annual Budget 2023-24, the Yogi Adityanath government has envisioned an investment of over Rs 30,000 crore to build and upkeep roads and bridges.

The state plans to influence its system of roads, expressways, airports, dry ports, logistics hubs, and trade corridors for escorting development.

Rs 1,000 crore would be paid on the growth of roads allied to religious and spiritual tourism, while Rs 50 crore would be evident on road projects related to industrial and logistics gardens.

Meanwhile, budgetary requirements of Rs 585 crore and Rs 465 crore were made for the Kanpur and Agra metro rail tasks, respectively. Over Rs 1,300 crores have been assigned for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor Regional Rapid Transit System project in the pending fiscal year.

A facility of Rs 235 crore was made in the state Budget for the preliminary phase of new expressway plans, i.e. Jhansi Link Expressway and Chitrakoot Link Expressway. The state will capitalise Rs 3,000 crore to expand new cities and urban centres in 2023-24.

The Budget size of Rs 6.90 trillion was 6.5% higher, associated with Rs 6.48 trillion for the current financial year 2022-23.

In the newly held UP Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2023, UP gathered investment offers of Rs 33.50 trillion from 19,000 domestic and foreign stakeholders and business groups across parts with roads.
