UP Govt Signs MoUs Worth Rs 18,590 Crore with UAE Companies

The largest share of investment proposals of four lakh crores has been received from UK and USA.

Ahead of the Global Investor Summit in Lucknow in February, the Uttar Pradesh government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 18,590 crore with six companies and of United Arab Emirates (UAE), the statement said. According to the statement, the agreement will help create more than 20,000 new jobs.

The two companies, Astha Green Energy Venture and Shree Siddharth Infratech and Services, will invest Rs 4,480 crore and Rs 8,000 crore, respectively, in renewable energy to create 2,560 and 4,800 new jobs.

Meanwhile, two other companies, Sharaf Group and Hindustan Port, will invest in the logistics park portion. The statement read that investments in the state will amount to Rs 1,300 and Rs 210 crore, respectively and will provide 1,500 and 1,000 jobs.

Lulu Group to invest Rs 4,500 crore in retail and food processing, creating 10,000 jobs. Sobha Realty will invest Rs 100 crore in education and corporate social responsibility. This will employ 250 people.

The statement said investment proposals worth over Rs 7.12 lakh crore were received ahead of GIS 2023.

Ahead of the Global Investor Summit to be held in February, eight teams from the Uttar Pradesh government visited 16 countries and received investment proposals totalling over Rs 7.12 lakh crore. The UK and the US received the most significant investment proposal worth Rs 4 lakh crore.

At this Global Investor Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other critical Federal ministers will attend.

Following the invitation of investors from 16 major countries worldwide to invest in Uttar Pradesh, the domestic roadshow will start on January 5 in 9 major cities in the state led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
