US Approves Sales Worth $90 Mn of Military Equipment and Services to India

The United States has approved the request of India for purchasing military hardware and services worth $ 90 million to support the fleet of C-130J Super Hercules aircraft.
Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the Department of Defence said this proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the US by strengthening the US-Indian strategic relationship and improving the security of a “Major Defence Partner”. DSCA is a major sales notification to Congress said that India continues to be an important force in the Indo-Pacific and South Asia region in terms of political stability, peace, and economic progress.
The approved $ 90 million deal for the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft includes aircrat consumables spare and repair/return parts, Advanced Radar Warning Receiver chipset, Cartridge Actuated Devices/Propellant Actuated Devices (CAD/PAD) fire extinguisher cartridges, flare cartridges, 10 Lightweight Night Vision Binocular, 10 AN/AVS-9 Night Vision Goggle, GPS, Electronic Warfare, instruments and lab equipment support. 
The Pentagon said that the proposed deal ensures the previously procured aircraft to operate effectively and to serve the needs of the Indian Air Force (IAF), the Army, and the Navy. The sale of spare parts and services will enable the IAF to sustain C-130J aircraft mission-ready and added that it will be not difficult for India to absorb this additional sustainment support.
