Share of VA Tech Wabag Ltd was trading in the green during the early trading hours on 28 July after the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board awarded them a Rs 380 crore contract.

In its regulatory filing, the company said. “The company secured a design, build, operate (DBO) order worth about Rs 380 crore from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) towards design, engineering, construction and commissioning (EPC) of Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) with tertiary treatment facility, biogas generation, solar sludge drying beds and intermediate pumping stations along with associated piping works, scheduled to be completed over 30 months, followed by 10 years of operation and maintenance (O&M).”

These modern WWTPs are installed at four sites in Bommanahalli as part of the Karnataka Water Security and Disaster Resilience program.

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) awarded the company a 300 million litres per day (MLD) seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) mega desalination plant at Yanbu in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 24 July for approximately USD 272 million (SAR 1,019 million / Rs 2,332 crore), according to a press release.

This project includes the design, engineering, supply, construction, and commissioning of a 300 MLD mega desalination plant, which will be built on a greenfield site along Saudi Arabia’s west coast.

On 9 December 2024 and 28 January 2025, the share reached a 52-week high of Rs 1,943.95 and a low of Rs 1,109.35.

However, at 11:37 am, the shares of VA Tech Wabag shed all their early gains and were trading 1.20% lower at Rs 1,604.50 on NSE.
