Waaree Energies is expanding beyond solar modules as its wholly owned subsidiary, Waaree Clean Energy Solutions (WCES), has entered India’s specialty gases market.
The new business will supply ultra-high purity gases and chemicals to semiconductor and solar cell manufacturers, targeting a growing requirement as India expands its domestic electronics and chip manufacturing ecosystem.
WCES is developing a specialty gases facility at GIDC Saykha in Dahej, Gujarat. The plant will be developed in phases and is designed to meet the high safety and purity standards required by semiconductor manufacturing.
The company aims to reduce the industry’s dependence on imported high-purity process gases and create a domestic supply chain for these critical materials.
The planned portfolio includes ultra-high purity ammonia, oxygen and hydrogen, along with phosphine-hydrogen mixtures used in semiconductor processes. WCES also plans to supply gases and chemicals such as silane, nitrous oxide, boron trichloride, trimethyl aluminium, diborane, germane-hydrogen mixtures, hydrogen bromide and other specialty gases.
Alongside the gases, the company will provide customised gas and chemical supply systems, nitrogen plants and a Total Gas & Chemical Management System. These services will cover storage, delivery, safety monitoring and inventory management, allowing manufacturers to source multiple requirements through a single supplier.
The move gives Waaree exposure to two industries that are receiving strong policy support in India. Semiconductor fabs, OSAT and ATMP facilities require specialised gases during chip fabrication, while solar cell manufacturing also depends on high-purity process gases.
The company said its entry is aimed at supporting the expansion of these manufacturing ecosystems and improving domestic supply reliability.
The announcement comes soon after Waaree Energies secured a 2 GW solar module supply order from a leading domestic solar developer, with deliveries scheduled across FY27 and FY28. The company has also proposed merging Indosolar into Waaree Energies to integrate its solar cell and module manufacturing operations.
At 3:30 pm, Waaree Energies shares closed 1.47% lower at Rs 2,475 on NSE.
