Welspun Corp Shares Rise After $412.5 Million US Pipe Order

Welspun Corp Ltd
The pipes will be manufactured at Welspun Corpโ€™s upgraded HFIW mill in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Welspun Corp shares gained nearly 5% in early trade on September 25 after the company announced that its US subsidiary had secured its largest-ever pipe order worth $412.5 million, or around Rs 4,000 crore.

The stock touched an intraday high of Rs 2,836.50 on the NBSE, while the latest contract pushed Welspun Corpโ€™s global order book to a record $4.7 billion.

The order has been won by Welspun Tubular LLC, the companyโ€™s wholly owned US subsidiary, for the supply of High-Frequency Induction Welded (HFIW) pipes. According to the company, the contract is its largest in terms of volume, length and value.

The pipes will be manufactured at Welspun Corpโ€™s upgraded HFIW mill in Little Rock, Arkansas, and the order will be executed during FY28 and FY29.

The new contract takes Welspun Corpโ€™s total global order book to around $4.7 billion, equivalent to nearly Rs 45,000 crore. This is the highest order book in the companyโ€™s history and highlights the growing contribution of its international operations.

The order also strengthens Welspun Corpโ€™s presence in the US market, where its Arkansas facility serves customers across energy and infrastructure projects. Demand for large steel pipes has been supported by investments in oil and gas, LNG, water infrastructure and power projects.

The company said the latest win reflects its manufacturing capabilities and long-term focus on expanding its global manufacturing footprint.

The latest order follows another major development in August, when Welspun Corp secured a record $1.8 billion pipe supply order from its US manufacturing operations. The company has been expanding its US capabilities to cater to large international projects and deepen relationships with global customers.

The strong order inflow comes at a time when Welspun Corp has seen significant momentum in its stock. The shares have gained around 20% over the past month and nearly 93% over the past three months, according to market data reported on September 25.

Welspun Corp shares were trading around Rs 2,785.50 at 11:50 am, up 3.46% from the previous close.
