WhatsApp Is Working on Multi-Device Links for Phones and Tablets

After the recent release of the multi-device feature of WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, WhatsApp is now working on several improvements to allow users to link another mobile device in the latest version of the beta. This is a major improvement over the past when multiple devices could only be run through a desktop client or web browser.

According to a report by Mashable, WhatsApp appears to be working on a feature that would allow users to chat with the same account on different phones or phones and tablets. The screen instructs you to enrol the device you’re using as a “buddy” by scanning the code with your primary phone, however, there doesn’t appear to be a device to scan at this time. It’s unclear if this feature will be available on iOS, but priorities suggest it will.

In November 2021, WhatsApp released Linked Devices as a public beta and has been upgrading the app since then. While WhatsApp’s Linked Devices feature already allows users to use their accounts on a variety of devices, it currently only supports PCs as secondary devices, and won’t work for those with extra phones and tablets.
