WinZO has entered the US market and launched ZO TV, a short-video content platform, following the shutdown of its real-money gaming operations in India due to new regulations. This marks the company’s first move into North America, in addition to its existing presence in Brazil.
The company said its goal is to help Indian game developers reach global audiences while diversifying its offerings. ZO TV, built into the WinZO app, provides short clips, micro-dramas, and interactive content designed to boost user engagement.
The pivot comes as India’s new Online Gaming Act restricts money-based gaming, pushing platforms like WinZO and Dream11 to explore non-gambling verticals.
WinZO, which recently reported strong FY24 earnings, is now focusing on content and international expansion to build new revenue streams and maintain its developer network. With operations in India, Brazil, and now the US, it aims to position itself as a global discovery and entertainment ecosystem.
