Shares of Yatra Online Limited shot up to a day high of Rs 117.80 on the NSE on 19 June, surging as much as 5.54% after a report said online travel platform Ixigo is looking to pick up a 15-20% stake from Yatra’s existing promoter group.

Nothing is official yet. No formal announcement has come from either company. The NSE officially issued a clarification request to Yatra Online at 11:33 am IST on Friday under its standard disclosure regulations, and the company’s response was still awaited at the time of writing.

According to the report, the deal is in its advanced evaluation stages, with Ixigo looking to purchase a 15-20% strategic stake from Yatra’s existing promoter group. 

Both companies operate in India’s online travel space, covering flights, hotels, trains, buses and holiday packages. 

Yatra stands apart from the pack though, it is India’s largest managed corporate travel company, serving over 1,300 large enterprises and around 58,000 smaller businesses, a corporate footprint that makes it an attractive target for a peer looking to grow fast.

Ixigo’s parent company, Le Travenues Technology Limited, also moved on the news. It touched a day high of Rs 193.90, gaining 2.6% at its peak, before cooling to Rs 189.51, up just 0.32% by 13:14 pm.

On the earnings side, Yatra had a rough fourth quarter. Net profit fell 46% year on year to Rs 8.20 crore for Q4 FY26 and revenue dropped 13.68% to Rs 189.01 crore, both knocked by the West Asia conflict hitting travel demand. 

The full year was a different picture, FY26 net profit rose 28% to Rs 46.8 crore, with revenue up 27.2% to Rs 1,006.5 crore.

At 13:14 pm on 19 June, YATRA was at Rs 112.60 on the NSE, up 1.32% from its previous close of Rs 111.13, well off the morning high as markets waited for an official word. 

The stock has gained 19.21% over the past month and 28.87% over the past year.
