YuWaah Board Appoints Capgemini CEO Ashwin Yardi as Co-chair

Ashwin Yardi is appointed as the next CEO of Capgemini in India. He will be a co-chair along with Yasumasa Kimura, who represents UNICEF.

“Yuaah’s work to improve skilling, community development, and economic opportunity for young people is truly one of the enduring legacies of the last two-plus years,” Yardi said. “I look forward to working as a co-chair and founding partner with the board and bringing in Capgemini’s support as a partner to connect young people with opportunities at scale,” they also said.

According to a statement by UNICEF, the YuWaah board will now function as a decision-making body. It will also support the YuWaah Secretariat for funding and functional expertise.

The UNICEF Representative, a.i. Yasumasa Kimura said that YuWaah has an ambitious target to enrol 300 young people as change-makers. Completing this goal will need bold strategies and swift actions.

The YuWaah BOD has now become a decision-making body, and members of the board commit time and resources to support Secretariat funding of YuWaah. Now they will play a significant role in influence and strategy over the long term and craft shaped value partnership with government and the private sector.
