ZEEL Slips After Q2 PAT Skids 58% to Rs 113 Cr

After the consolidated net profit of ZEE Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL) tumbled at 58.2 per cent to Rs 112.89 crore in the second quarter of FY23 as compared to Rs 270.16 crore in the second quarter of FY22. The company’s slipped 3.18 per cent to Rs 257.50. 

Revenue from operations hit a high at 2.5 per cent to Rs 2,028.40 crore in Q2FY23 from Rs 1,978.79 crore posted in Q2FY22.

Revenue from Advertisement was at Rs 1012.78 crore, down 7.02 per cent year on year, revenue from Subscription stood at 4.24 per cent year on year and revenue from other sales and services was Rs 193.69, up 91.79 per cent year on year. 

On a consolidated basis, PBT (exceptional item) stood at Rs 223.62 crore in the second quarter of FY23 compared to Rs 373.04 crore in the second quarter of FY22.

EBITDA dropped 27.9 per cent to Rs 297.3 crore in the second quarter of  FY23 from Rs 412.1 crore posted in the second quarter of  FY22. EBITDA margin declined to 14.7 per cent in the second quarter of FY23 compared to 20.8 per cent in the second quarter of  FY22. Total expenses rose 11.29 per cent to Rs 1822.33 crore in the second quarter of FY23. Advertisement and publicity expenses grew 29.39 per cent to Rs 316.90 crore in the second quarter of FY23 from Rs 244.92 crore in the second quarter of  FY22.
