Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is open to stepping down if it guarantees peace, suggesting he could trade his exit for Ukraine’s NATO membership.
U.S. President Donald Trump has called Zelenskyy a “dictator,” pointing out that his official term ends in 2024.
Trump has also pushed for elections in Ukraine, but Zelenskyy opposes holding them during wartime, a stance supported by his major political opponents.
Zelenskyy emphasised that he wants Trump to be a true partner to Ukraine rather than just a mediator between Kyiv and Moscow.
