Shares of Eternal Ltd (Zomato) are trading flat after hitting a day’s high of Rs 328.75 on 3rd September, as the company raised its platform fee on food delivery orders to Rs 12 from Rs 10, a 20% hike. The move comes less than a year after the company last revised the charge.

Zomato first introduced a platform fee of Rs 2 in August 2023 to boost margins and move toward profitability. Since then, the fee has been raised several times — to Rs 3 in 2023, and Rs 4 in January 2024. It was temporarily set to Rs 9 on 31st December 2023. It was later adjusted to Rs 7 in October 2024. Additionally, it increased again to Rs 10 during the festive season.

Zomato First Quarter Results

Eternal Ltd (Zomato) reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 25 crore for the June quarter. This is down from Rs 253 crore a year earlier, as investments in quick commerce and events weighed on earnings.

The company said results are not comparable year-over-year due to the acquisition of Orbgen Technologies and Wasteland Entertainment. These were acquired from Paytm’s parent in August 2024.

Revenue from operations rose sharply to Rs 7,167 crore from Rs 4,206 crore a year ago. For the first time, the company’s quick commerce net order value (NOV) surpassed its food delivery NOV for a full quarter.

At 1:25 PM, the shares of Eternal Ltd (Zomato) were trading 0.70% higher at Rs 324.65 on NSE.
