Mumbai hit one crore vaccine doses against covid-19 on Tuesday, according to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data. Around 1,00,41,579 vaccine doses have been given so far to citizens in all eligible age groups, the data said. According to the BMC, 71,61,427 citizens have been given the 1st dose, while 28,80,152 have got both vaccine doses.

The civic body declared that only 2nd dose of coronavirus vaccines would be given at BMC and state government’s centres on September 9. Last Saturday, BMC had organised a similar session to speed up the vaccination drive for eligible citizens. “The 1st shot of the Covid-19 vaccine will not be given to anyone on September 9,” the BMC said.
