Law enforcement in Portland announced a riot as nearly 200 demonstrators protested the release of a teen who killed two people and injured another in Wisconsin. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said the protesters were breaking windows, throwing objects at police but the crowd had separated by about 11 p.m. The protesters came after the release of Kyle Rittenhouse who is 18 years old, killed two people and injured another in a protest against police brutality in Wisconsin last year.

Dozens of people gathered near the State Capitol building to protest the decision. The crowd of 75 people were chanting “No justice, no peace!” and “Abolish the police!” The police had tweeted: “A crowd has gathered near SE 2nd Avenue and SE Madison Street and protestors have started breaking windows and damaging doors of city facilities in the area. People are throwing objects at police officers in the area.”
