Mozilla has announced that it is shutting down its Firefox Reality browser, which is a browser that can be used in virtual reality environments. “We are happy to inform that the Firefox Reality browser technology will continue under Igalia where they will use the same principles we started when we created Firefox Reality,” the company said in a statement.

The Firefox Reality Browser is still available in VR app stores but will be removed from the stores soon. Firefox Reality was launched in 2018 and has been available on Viveport, Oculus, Pico and HoloLens platforms. The browser allowed users to access the web through standalone virtual reality and augmented reality headsets.
