US Department of Commerce has imposed restrictions on the exports of their luxury goods to Russia and Belarus. “We have also forced an import ban on Russian alcohol, seafood and non-industrial diamonds,” Department of State Spokesperson Ned Price said.

Price said that the US would stay committed to Ukraine and make sure that no ease on sanctions is given to Russia. He said, “We will remain committed and united with Ukraine. There will be no relief from sanctions, and we will continue to impose on Russia until Putin reverses in his brutal attack on Ukraine.”

Earlier, the European Union (EU) had also announced the ban on the exports of luxury products to Russia. The European Commission President said that in addition to cancelling Russia’s benefits as a World Trade Organization (WTO) member and new measures against Russian elites close to the Kremlin. The EU will ban the essential goods in the iron and steel sector from Russia. EU also plans to ban investments in Russia’s energy sector.
