GST Collection in Sept Crosses Rs 1.17 Lakh Cr

The GST revenue received in September is at Rs 1,17 lakh crore. During the month, revenues from the import of goods were 30 per cent higher, and the gains from the domestic transaction were 20 per cent higher.

CGST collections were Rs 20,578 crore, SGST Rs 26,767 crore, IGST Rs 60,911 crore and cess Rs 8,754 crore. The centre has settled Rs 28,812 crore to CGST and Rs 24,140 crore to SGST from IGST as regular compensation.
The average monthly GST collection for the 2nd quarter has been Rs 1.15 lakh crore, which is 5 per cent higher than the middle monthly collection of Rs 1.10 lakh crore in the 1st quarter of the year.

“This clearly shows that the economy is recovering fastly. United with economic growth, anti-evasion exercises, especially action against fake billers, also contribute to the GST collections. It is assumed that the positive trend in the revenues will continue and the 2nd half of the year will show higher revenues,” the administration said.
