Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur declared a 6 per cent additional dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners from July 1. This notice will give a financial benefit of Rs 450 crore to the employees and pensioners. CM Thakur also declared an increase in subsidy to the Below Poverty Line and Above Poverty Line groups on edible oils. He also announced Rs 15 crore for Municipal Corporation Mandi to make sure of the development.

The Chief Minister gave civil services awards to the National Health Mission and the Department of Information technology. He also praised Ashish Kumar’s sportspersons, Priyanka Negi, Ritu Negi, Kavita Thakur, Ajay Thakur, Khila Devi, Diksha Thakur, Priyanka Thakur, Jyotika Datta, Vikas Thakur and Coach Naresh Kumar. The state celebrated 75th Independence Day as Amrit Mahotsav, with functions organised at the state, district and sub-division levels.
