Today, The EPC announced that its construction arm had secured a ‘significant’ contract for its water & effluent treatment business. The value of a significant project is Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore, as per Larsen & Toubro Ltd. The water & effluent treatment business of L&T Construction has secured a repeat order from the Department Of Water Resources. The Government of Odisha executed a pressurized underground pipeline irrigation network system for the Right Command of Lower Suktel Irrigation project.

The order from the irrigation sector reiterates the customer’s confidence in L&T’s irrigated 27,000 hectare (Ha) of Culturable Command Area (CCA) in the district of Odisha Balangir. The project scope is to give the survey, laying, installation, and commissioning of MS, DI & high-density polyethene (HDPE) pumping, supply, and design.
The company said that the project envisages providing water to irrigate 27,000 hectare (Ha) of Culturable Command Area (CCA) in the Balangir district of Odisha. The project scope involves survey, design, engineering, supply, laying, installation & commissioning of MS, DI & high-density polyethene (HDPE) pumping main & distribution network with all allied electromechanical & automation works, it added. Per the company’s statement, the business of L&T can meet the requirements of farmers, which helps in the development of agriculture across the state. Over 50 country across the world has operated. The company is a multinational engaged in EPC projects in hi-tech manufacturing services.
On a consolidated basis, the net profit of EPC major surged by 44.9 per cent to Rs 1,702.07 crore. Net sales also jumped by 22.2 per cent to Rs 35,853.20 crore in the first quarter of FY23 over the first quarter of FY22. On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro Ltd shares were up 0.38 per cent to Rs 1,962.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
