COVID-19 vaccination rates have fallen sharply in some states, the Union Health Ministry said on May 20. The ministry announced that the two-month “Har Ghar Dastak 2.0” campaign will be launched in June to accelerate the pace of COVID-19 vaccination coverage and saturate all eligible beneficiaries.

The ministry said vaccination centres or state governments must not insist that such beneficiaries provide any foreign travel documents to provide prophylactic doses. States were also urged to prevent wasting coronavirus vaccines and to follow a “first expire, first-out” principle.
