Parenting Startup BabyChakra Buys Tinystep

Parenting platform BabyChakra has acquired the parenting network Tinystep. The acquisition aims to develop India’s “largest mother-baby platform”, the company said in a statement. With this acquisition, BabyChakra will expand its footprint across nine different languages with a target to reach 75 million mothers by the end of 2022. “After this deal, Tinystep will merge its social assets with BabyChakra’s existing platform to build the biggest and most trusted brand in the mom-child ecosystem in India,” a media release said.

Founded in 2015, Tinystep is a healthcare and parenting network that provides information and advice across parenting. It has 5 million followers on social media, and it engages in 9 different languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Bangla, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Telugu, and Punjabi. BabyChakra CEO Naiyya Saggi said that the local reach of Tinystep’s digital and social assets would help the firm to reach out to new users with deeper and add more personalised care. Tinystep Founder Suhail Abidi said that BabyChakra is the perfect company to take his vision forward. “I am happy that Tinystep has found a great new home,” he said.
