Saudi Arabia Declares Travel Ban for Citizens Visiting ‘Red List’ Countries

Saudi Arabia declared a 3-year travel ban on citizens who travel countries mentioned on the Covid-19 red list. “Travelling to the banned countries is violating the Covid-19 related travel restrictions and the guidelines,” a report by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.

The SPA report also mentioned that the Saudi Ministry of Interior had urged Saudi citizens to not travel to countries that are on the red list as these nations are currently seeing an increase in Covid-19 cases and its variants.

Saudi Arabia has put these countries on their red-list- the UAE, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Armenia, Ethiopia, Turkey, Somalia, Congo, Afghanistan, Belarus, India, Venezuela and Vietnam. “Those who break rules of the travel ban will be considered responsible and have to pay heavy penalties,” the sources said, adding that anyone violating the rules will be banned from travelling abroad for 3 years.
