The United States is offering Ukraine a loan guarantee of more than $1 billion to support its economy amid pressure from Russia’s military buildup near Ukraine’s border, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement.

”This loan will support Ukraine to secure its economic stability, growth, and wealth for its citizens,” Blinken said. A strong partnership between Ukraine and the IMF, other global financial bodies, some wealthy nations and other bilateral supporters will also help in the matter, he added.
