A 61-floor building in Mumbai caught massive fire broke out on Friday, a fire brigade official said. The fire exploded on the 19th floor of the One Avighna Park building on Currey Road shortly before noon, which caused a 30-year-old security guard to fall from the balcony of a flat.

“After the fire exploded, Arun Tiwari, a security guard of the building, hurried to the 19th floor. Soon he understood that he was trapped, and to save himself from the fire, he kept hanging from the flat’s balcony. He shakily held on to the railing of the balcony for many minutes before losing his grip and falling,” the official said. After the guard fell to the ground, he was rushed to KEM hospital, where he was announced dead, he added. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar, who visited the building, said two residents were still trapped inside the building, but most of the residents have been saved.
