India will start vaccinating kids against Covid-19 in the age group of 12 to 14 years from today. The Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan had said that only the Corbevax vaccine would be used for 12 to 14 years. Corbevax, manufactured by Biological Evans, Hyderabad, is the third vaccine against Covid-19 and will be available at all centres where free vaccination is available.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Twitter this morning, requesting all those eligible to get vaccinated. On Tuesday, the Central Government had released guidelines for Covid-19 vaccination of kids between 12-14 years. Two doses of Corbevax will be given at an interval of 28 days, the guidelines said. Beneficiaries between 14-15 years have already been covered during the vaccination for the 15-18 years age group, the government said.
