Basavaraj Bommai took oath as the 23rd Chief Minister of Karnataka. Bommai was declared the new Chief Minister of the state in a party meeting at a private hotel in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
The ceremony took place at the Glass House of the Karnataka Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru; Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot gave office and secrecy. BJP supporters also gathered outside Karnataka Raj Bhavan before Bommai’s oath-taking ceremony. Bommai visited a temple in the early morning before his oath ceremony. He took his oath as the 23rd Chief Minister of Karnataka at 11 am.

Bommai is the son of the Former State Chief Minister and former Union Minister, the late SR Bommai. He was the home minister of Karnataka during Former CM BS Yediyurappa’s administration. New Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this evening. “Basavaraj Bommai is an educated and experienced leader. I am confident that the Karnataka govt will do well under his leadership,” Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said.
