Nifty 50 Rises for Third Week in a Row Amid Broad Market Gains

Sensex climbed 259.75 points to 80,501.99.

Markets ended the week positively, with the Nifty and Sensex gaining nearly 1% each β€” marking their third consecutive weekly rise, the longest winning streak since December 2024.

The Nifty closed at 24,346.70, up 12.50 points, while the Sensex climbed 259.75 points to 80,501.99. Nifty Bank added 28.20 points to settle at 55,115.35.

Broader markets lagged, with the Nifty Midcap 100 index falling nearly 0.78% or 419.80 points, ending at 53,705.10.

Oil & Gas led sectoral gains, boosted by Reliance’s 10% weekly jump β€” its best in five years. Other top performers included Maruti Suzuki, Bharat Electronics, SBI Life, IndusInd Bank, and HDFC Life.

Top losers included Shriram Finance, JSW Steel (down 6% after a court ruling), UltraTech Cement, and Bajaj Finserv. Indus Towers dropped 7% after delaying its bonus and buyback decisions.

Stock-specific moves stood out β€” RailTel surged nearly 7% on strong Q4 results; IOC rose 4% after earnings; Godrej Properties gained 4% despite cautious guidance; Sona BLW added 3%, citing limited US tariff exposure; Eternal (Zomato) closed 1% higher, despite weak Q4 results.
