Phyllo Bags $15 Million Funding to Build Gateway for Creator Data

Phyllo, a startup that builds tools for creator economy app developers, said on August 17 that it raised $15 million in a Series A round led by RTP Global, a sign of investor interest in the booming market. There is growing interest in the creator economy.


Investors including Nexus Venture Partners, Better Capital, iSeed and others also participated in the round. The startup raised $2.8 million in seed funding last year, backed by angel investors including Teachable founder Ankur Nagpal, Coinbase executive Nakul Gupta, former Plaid executive Sima Gandhi and Audible executive Pat Shah.


Phyllo said it plans to use the funding to accelerate product development, expand its customer base and grow its developer-first API platform.


Founded in 2021 by Akhil Bhiwal, Achintya Gupta and Mohit Kumar, Phyllo is building a suite of application programming interfaces (APIs) to help businesses and developers have continuous access directly from hundreds of platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Twitch and more Verified creator, TikTok, Patreon, Discord and Spotify, with creator license.


Phyllo claims to have more than 20 clients, including linked bio platform Beacons, creator-centric banking app Creative Juice, influencer marketing platform Creator.co, financial services provider Karat, social commerce platform MagicLinks, offers productivity and currency Bintango creators and more.
