The Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Monday and will also feature an “immersive 3D interactive experience zone in the Metaverse“.

In addition to the official JioMeet Livestream, RIL will be one of the first companies in the world to hold its AGM on the virtual reality platform simultaneously, live on five leading social media platforms simultaneously.

The Reliance AGM virtual reality (VR) platform, powered by GMetri, is designed to allow users to walk in and out of different virtual rooms, virtually walk-through lounges, and interactively explore business highlights from the company’s 2021-22 annual report.

GMetri is an Extended Reality (XR) platform for businesses to create, share and track training modules, online stores, product showcases and immersion tours. XR is an umbrella term that covers Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR) and everything in between.

While professional 3D VR glasses can greatly enrich the experience, everyone can enjoy an immersive experience on their usual phone or desktop screen.

Additionally, Reliance will add two social media platforms – Koo and Instagram – to its list of digital channels to live stream its annual convention to digital audiences this year.

It will be available for live viewing on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter starting Monday at 2 pm.

RIL also activated the Haptik +917977111111 WhatsApp chatbot. Chatbots can be activated with a “hi” message to help people find the date and time of the annual general meeting, how to watch it live, how shareholders can vote or ask questions, and more. All of these conversations take place alongside video within the WhatsApp environment and encourage more user engagement.

“At the last RIL annual conference in June 2021, the chatbot successfully processed over 100,000 queries with high accuracy,” said RIL group-level head Rohit Bansal in a LinkedIn post.

He added that it had been several years since Reliance pioneered using all electronic media and digital media platforms to Livestream its annual general meeting. Reliance has been a champion of Digital India through Jio, leading India’s digital transformation at every level.
