The GIFT Nifty futures, which are an early indicator of the Nifty50 index, were trading higher by 104 points at 25,183, indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a positive start on Friday.

On Thursday, 15 May, Domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex surged by 1,200 points or 1.48%, and settled at 82,530.74, while the Nifty50 traded 1.6% higher by 395.20 points, settling at 25,062.10.

Here are some stocks that are likely to remain in focus on 16 May.

Quarterly Results Today: Hyundai Motor India, Delhivery, Emami, BHEL, Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals, Heritage Foods, Jubilant Pharmova, CreditAccess Grameen, ESAF Small Finance Bank, Eureka Forbes, Kalpataru Projects International, Matrimony.com, Nucleus Software Exports, Texmaco Infrastructure & Holdings, Texmaco Rail & Engineering, Shipping Corporation of India, Shankara Building Products, and S H Kelkar and Company are some of the prominent companies set to announce their quarterly earnings for January-March. 

Rail Vikas Nigam: The company has secured a Letter of Award from Central Railway for a project valued at Rs 115.8 crore. The project entails Overhead Equipment (OHE) modification to upgrade the existing 1×25 KV electric traction system to a 2×25 KV feeding system in the Itarsi–Amla Section of the Nagpur Division, aiming to support a 3,000 MT freight target.

Infosys: Infosys has announced an extended strategic partnership with DNB Bank ASA, the largest bank in Norway, to fast-track the bank’s digital transformation. The collaboration will utilise Infosys’ platforms, services, and solutions to modernise IT systems, boost operational resilience, and enhance customer experience.

Alkem Laboratories: Alkem Laboratories revealed that its subsidiary, Enzene Biosciences, experienced a cybersecurity breach involving its US unit. The incident led to the compromise of certain employees’ business email accounts, resulting in a fraudulent transfer of funds. The exact amount involved is currently being investigated.

Bajaj Auto: The Board of Directors of the company has approved an additional investment of €125 million (approximately Rs 1,199.92 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV, based in the Netherlands.

Biocon: Biocon Pharma, a fully owned subsidiary of Biocon, has received approval from the USFDA for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Rivaroxaban Tablets USP in 2.5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, and 20 mg strengths. Rivaroxaban is prescribed for treating deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and for reducing the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.

Bharti Airtel: Bharti Airtel shares may witness a block deal today. Pastel, a subsidiary of Singtel, is likely to offload a 0.8% stake in the telecom giant through block transactions. The deal is expected to be valued at Rs 8,568 crore, with the floor price set at Rs 1,800 per share, which is around 3.6% below the stock’s last closing price.
