An estimated cost of Rs 1,800 crore will be incurred for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, said the officials of the Trust responsible for the construction of the structure on Sunday. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, set up on the Supreme Court’s orders for the temple construction in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, permitted its rules and manuals after a marathon meeting.

During the meeting at the Faizabad Circuit House, the trust associates also decided to make space for idols of prominent Hindu psychics from the Ramayana period in the temple complex. The General Secretary of the Trust, Champat Rai, after a long inspection and recommendations from everyone concerned, the rules and regulations of the Trust were finalised at the meeting. Mr Rai said that out of the 15 trust members, 14 of them attended the meeting.

The Construction committee chairman Nripendra Mishra, trust chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, treasurer Govind Dev Giri, member Udupi Peethadheeshwar Vishwatirtha Prasannacharya, Dr Anil Mishra, Mahant Dinendra Das, Kameshwar Chaupal and ex-officio member District Magistrate Nitish Kumar were present physically, while Keshav Parasharan, Yugpurush Parmanand, Vimalendra Mohan Pratap Mishra and ex-officio member state Principal Secretary, Home, Sanjay Kumar attended virtually.

According to the reports, the temple construction is anticipated to be completed by December 2023, and Lord Ram is likely to be seated in the sanctum sanctorum by the January 2024 festival Makar Sankranti, said Rai.
