Delhi can face a power crisis due to coal shortage, CM Arvind Kejriwal said and requested PM Modi to get involved so that coal and gas can be provided to generate electricity. Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain told the outage has been avoided for two days after restarting the gas supply of the Bawana plant. However, he informed that Delhi could face a blackout if NTPC Limited doesnβt provide power in the upcoming days.

Delhi’s power regulator Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC), held an emergency meeting to address the crisis and relaxed discoms in power acquisitions due to increased rates. The DERC urged the Ministry of Power to interrupt and help supply fuel to the power plants to avoid any outages in Delhi. “Delhi can face a power outage. I am keeping a close eye on the situation. We are trying our best to avoid it. Meanwhile, I wrote a letter to Prime Minister asking his intervention,” Kejriwal tweeted.
